Happy New Year! Did you know that more than 1/2 of Americans make New Year's Resolutions? Among the most popular are to lose weight, exercise more, quit smoking, and eat more healthy. We make resolutions with the best of intentions. Gym memberships explode at this time of the year, and by the end of the first month an average of 67% of new members no longer go.
Why? e their momentum is that we're creatures of habit. We like our comfortable routines. Another reason is that our motivation wanes.
Information and consistency is key to any behavior change, big or small. "Losing weight" involves a lot of things, and is too general! We need a plan to get where we're going. And changes need to be made gradually; old habits need to be replaced by new ones. My New Year's Resolution was "Lose Weight" since age 13. Hasn't been for over 12 years now. Yey! But that was with the help of a trainer. I needed to plan; to learn what truly works and what doesn't, the science behind weight management. If the magazines gave it to you straight up, they wouldn't keep selling magazines, would they? That's why I became a trainer. To help others do the same. Check that one off the box and discover new ambitions.
